Brighton vs Burnley Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Brighton and Burnley are set to serve up a low scoring contest in their English Premier League clash at the Amex Stadium. Both teams have not been at their best this season, particularly in attack and are tipped to produce under 2.5 goals.

Brighton & Hove Albion FC Form & Team News

Brighton are coming off a 4-0 defeat at champions Manchester City in their previous Premier League fixture. They were completely outclassed by the champions and could only muster two attempts on goal throughout the 90 minutes.

The Seagulls have not made the best start to the season having claimed just one win in their opening four matches. Graham Potter's men are priced at odds of 2.10 for a win on Saturday but with just one goal scored in their last three matches, are likely to produce a low scoring contest.

Neil Maupay has led the line for Brighton in all their matches this season but has found the net just once in four matches. Glenn Murray is also likely to be given a run out in attack as he continues the search for his first goal of the campaign.

Burnley FC Form & Team News

Burnley were beaten last time out in the Premier League as they fell 3-0 at home against Liverpool. They had a few early chances but ultimately succumbed to the superior quality of the league leaders.

The Clarets have struggled in recent weeks having failed to secure a victory since the opening day of the season. Sean Dyche’s men are valued at odds of 3.60 for a win at the Amex but I am going for under 2.5 goals at 1.73 as they have looked off colour in attack lately.

Ashley Barnes had a quiet outing against Liverpool but is still expected to retain his place in attack. He is likely to be joined by regular partner Chris Wood who is still seeking his first goal this season.

Brighton vs Burnley Head to Head

Burnley have a 7-5 advantage with 10 draws from 22 previous matches against Brighton. 11 of the last 14 meetings have produced under 2.5 goals while both teams have drawn five of their last seven fixtures.

Brighton vs Burnley Match Up

Glenn Murray has found things difficult for Brighton this season as he is still without a goal after four matches. With Neil Maupay also in poor form at the moment, the hosts should struggle against an organised Burnley backline.

Burnley appear to be heavily dependent on Ashley Barnes and often struggle when he is not at his best. With Chris Wood looking off colour in recent matches, the striker could be in for a difficult time against the Brighton defence.
