Brighton vs Crystal Palace Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Brighton and Crystal Palace are aiming to snap out of recent slumps when they meet in an English Premier League fixture at the Amex Stadium. Both teams have struggled in attack and are tipped to cancel each other in a low scoring encounter.

Brighton Form

Brighton earned a 1-1 draw at Sheffield United in their previous Premier League fixture. They fell behind in the first half but struck back through Neal Maupay in a match with few chances.

The Seagulls remain without a win in 2020 but have drawn four of their last five matches. Graham Potter’s men have had their problems in attack with one goal or less scored in seven of their last eight matches.

Brighton are attempting to keep some distance between themselves and the relegation zone.

Brighton News

Brighton are without winger Jose Izquierdo who is yet to recover fully from a long-term knee problem. Midfielder Dale Stephens missed the draw at Sheffield with a slight knock but should recover in time to feature on Saturday.

Crystal Palace Form

Crystal Palace are coming off a rare win as they claimed a 1-0 home victory over Newcastle in their last Premier League fixture. Patrick Van Aanholt’s first half effort proved to be the difference in a tight contest.

The result ended a nine-match winless run for the Eagles who have looked off colour in recent weeks. Roy Hodgson’s men have fared slightly better away from home and travel to the Amex with three draws in their last four away matches.

Palace often struggle in attack and have scored one goal or less in eight of their last nine matches.

Crystal Palace News

Centre back James Tomkins is expected to miss Saturday’s match with injury. He joins defenders Mamadou Sakho and midfielder Max Meyer on the treatment table.

Brighton vs Crystal Palace Head to Head

Brighton have an 8-6 edge in the head to head against Crystal Palace with six draws from 20 previous matches. The reverse fixture at Selhurst Park ended 1-1 with Neal Maupay opening the scoring for Brighton while Wilfried Zaha struck the equaliser for Palace.

Brighton vs Crystal Palace Betting Odds

Unibet are offering 2.06 for a Brighton win while a victory for Crystal Palace is paying 3.95. Bet365 is offering 3.30 for a draw which was the outcome in the reverse fixture.

Both teams produced under 2.5 goals which is priced at 1.62 at William Hill while BTTS NO is valued at 1.80.

Brighton vs Crystal Palace Match Up

Neal Maupay remains the biggest attacking threat for Brighton but the striker just ended a 10-match goal drought. Glenn Murray and Aaron Connolly have also struggled lately and should find things difficult against Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace have similar attacking problems with top scorer Jordan Ayew finding the net just once in his last nine matches. Wilfred Zaha has scored just three goals all season and could face a difficult time at the Amex Stadium.
