Brighton vs West Ham Predictions

Brighton have been inconsistent at the Amex and struggle to convert good performances into wins. West Ham’s push for the top-four has tailed off after recent poor results, but they have picked up points away.

I am backing a draw and BTTS.

  • Brighton are winless in 5 of their last 6 matches (Premier League)
  • Brighton have drawn their last 4 matches against West Ham (Premier League)
  • Brighton have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 6 matches against West Ham (Premier League)
  • West Ham are winless in 5 of their last 7 away matches (Premier League)
  • West Ham have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 5 away matches (Premier League)

Brighton and West Ham have won 18 matches each and drawn 18 matches in 54 meetings.

West Ham and Brighton drew 2-2 in the reverse fixture this season, the fourth consecutive score-draw between the two sides.

Brighton Form

Brighton lost 2-1 away at Wolves on Sunday, their second defeat in three Premier League matches.

Lewis Dunk scored on 13 minutes but was sent off early in the second half. Brighton came under heavy pressure and Wolves scored two goals in the last 15 minutes before Neal Maupay was also dismissed in injury time.

Brighton are winless in five of their last six Premier League matches, a 2-0 home victory against Leeds is their only recent victory.

0-0 draws against Everton and Chelsea have helped Graham Potter’s side to stay well clear of relegation trouble in the late stages of the season.

Brighton Injuries & Team News

Midfielder Adam Lallana and defender Joel Veltman could return to the squad after recent injuries.

Striker Florin Andone is doubtful with a thigh injury.

Defender Lewis Dunk and forward Neal Maupay are suspended.

Full back Tariq Lamptey and midfielder Solly March are ruled out with long-term injuries.

West Ham Form

West Ham’s hopes of a top-four finish in the Premier League this season have stuttered after one win in their last four matches.

The Hammers lost 1-0 at home to Everton on Sunday and failed to create chances after conceding early on. David Moyes’ side had 68% possession and Jarrod Bowen’s missed their only clear-cut chance from close range in the second half.

West Ham have been in better form away from home. A 3-2 win against Wolves and a 2-1 win at Burnley came either side of a 3-2 loss to Newcastle.

David Moyes’ side have an outside chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season. They are fifth in the Premier League and six points off Chelsea with a game in hand.

West Ham Injuries & Team News

Midfielders Declan Rice and Mark Noble could be back in contention.

Defenders Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell could also return to the squad.

Attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini is doubtful with a groin strain.

Brighton are missing several key players and will be low on confidence after a disappointing loss against Wolves. West Ham have been inconsistent recently and they concede a lot of goals.

With both teams out of form, I am backing a draw and BTTS.
