Burnley vs Leicester Predictions

Leicester have had a tough week. Knocked out of the Europa League, defeated at home by Arsenal and now with a growing injury list.

I am predicting a 1-1 draw between these two sides with Burnley drawing their last three home matches.

  • Burnley have drawn their last 3 home matches (Premier League).
  • Burnley have seen under 2.5 goals in 8 of their last 9 home matches (all competitions).
  • Leicester undefeated in 11 of their last 13 matches (Premier League).
  • Leicester are undefeated in their last 8 away matches (Premier League).
  • Leicester have seen under 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 away matches (all competitions).

Head to Head

Burnley hold a 46-38 head-to-head advantage over Leicester, with the two sides drawing 31 of their 115 competitive meetings.

Leicester beat Burnley 4-2 back in September in the reverse fixture. Chris Wood put Burnley in front, but Harvey Barnes, James Justin and Dennis Praet all scored for the Foxes along with an Erik Pieters own goal.

Burnley Form

The Clarets had been on improved form, going unbeaten for four matches. But a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Tottenham on Sunday reminded them they are still in a relegation battle.

Burnley have drawn their last three home matches against relegation rivals Fulham, Brighton, and West Brom.

Burnley have only scored over 2.5 goals twice this season in the Premier League, so keeping tight at the back is imperative to them picking up points.

Burnley Injuries & Team News

Sean Dyche will be without Johann Gudmundsson and Ashley Barnes once again, with Robbie Brady and Erik Pieters also doubtful.

Top scorer Chris Wood is likely to return and replace Matej Vydra alongside Jay Rodriguez upfront.

Leicester Form

Leicester have been on an excellent league run which has seen them beat Liverpool and Aston Villa to sit in the top four.

A midweek loss against Slavia Prague in the Europa League combined with a 3-1 home defeat to Arsenal will have dented confidence in the Foxes camp.

Leicester led against Arsenal through Youri Tielemans, but David Luiz, Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe fired Arsenal to victory.

Leicester’s injury crisis is perhaps taking its toll on the squad, but they have only lost one away match all season ahead of the trip to Turf Moor.

Leicester Injuries & Team News

Brendan Rodgers’ injury crisis has not got any better as Harvey Barnes was the latest player to join James Justin, Ayoze Perez, Dennis Praet and Wes Morgan on the sidelines.

Jonny Evans, Wesley Fofana and James Maddison are also doubts for Wednesday's game.

Turkish international Cengiz Under is likely to replace Barnes on the wing.

Given that Leicester will be missing some key players, this is a brilliant opportunity for Burnley to pick up a point. A fourth straight draw at home is predicted for the Clarets.
