Cardiff vs Huddersfield Match Preview, Predictions, Predictions

Cardiff City FC Form & Team News

Cardiff have found things difficult on their return to the Premier League but are making progress in their quest to beat the drop. They are sitting just outside the relegation zone and have maintained a good home record lately with three wins in the last five matches at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Neil Warnock's team were beaten 3-0 by Tottenham Hotspur in their last fixture in the Premier League. They followed up that result with a shock 1-0 defeat away at League One club Gillingham in the FA Cup.

Junior Hoillet and Josh Murphy were both second half substitutes at Gillingham and should return to the first team on Saturday. Victor Camarasa is also expected to start after missing the FA Cup fixture while top scorer Calum Paterson is set to continue in attack.

Huddersfield Town FC Form & Team News

Huddersfield have been the worst team in the Premier League this season as they are rooted to the foot of the table. David Wagner's men are currently on a nine-match losing streak across all competitions, failing to score in four of those matches.

The Terriers were also knocked out of the FA Cup by lower league opposition as they suffered a 1-0 defeat away at Championship team Bristol City. Prior to the Cup loss, they were beaten 2-1 at home by Burnley in their last Premier League fixture.

Steve Mounie scored his first goal of the season in the defeat to Burnley and is likely to continue in attack on Saturday. Phillip Billing is also expected to start while Christopher Schindler is set to return after serving a suspension in the FA Cup defeat to Bristol City.

Cardiff vs Huddersfield Head-to-Head

Cardiff City have a good record in this fixture having claimed 13 wins and suffered 12 defeats in 40 previous matches against Huddersfield Town. The Bluebirds have also dominated the recent meetings with five wins in the last seven matches.

Both teams settled for a goalless draw in the reverse fixture at the John Smith's Stadium back in August.

Cardiff vs Huddersfield Match Up

Cardiff City have shown some improvement lately, particularly at home where they have won three of their last five matches. The likes of Paterson and Camarasa have also impressed for the Welsh team in recent matches and should have too much for Huddersfield.

Meanwhile, there does not seem to be an end in sight for Huddersfield's problems as their season continues to unravel. They are set to struggle against a defence line marshaled by Sol Bamba for Cardiff.
