Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa Predictions

Crystal Palace are in poor form in the Premier League and Aston Villa have been inconsistent in the second half of the season.

With both teams out of form, I am tipping a draw.

  • Crystal Palace are winless in 10 of their last 13 matches (Premier League)
  • Crystal Palace are winless in 5 of their last 6 home matches (Premier League)
  • Crystal Palace are winless in 5 of their last 7 matches against Aston Villa (Premier League)
  • Aston Villa are winless in 11 of their last 14 matches (Premier League)

Head-to-Head

Aston Villa have a 20-12 advantage against Crystal Palace in 46 meetings with 14 draws.

Crystal Palace Form

Crystal Palace were unable to build on a recent 2-0 victory over Sheffield United as they fell to a disappointing 3-1 away defeat to Southampton on Tuesday.

Christian Benteke opened the scoring after two minutes but Southampton equalised 15 minutes later. Luka Milovjevic missed a penalty before halftime and Palace faced heavy pressure in the second half, seeing 37% possession and conceding two goals.

Roy Hodgson’s side are winless in five of their last six matches. Only a positive start to the season saw them steer clear of relegation trouble.

At home, Palace have won once in their last six, but picked up points following a 1-0 win against West Brom and 0-0 draws against Fulham and Man United.

Crystal Palace Injuries & Team News

Centre back James Tomkins could return to the squad.

Defenders Mamadou Sakho and Nathan Ferguson are ruled out through injury.

Midfielder James McArthur and striker Conor Wickham are also unavailable.

Aston Villa Form

Aston Villa bounced back from a heavy 3-1 home defeat to Manchester United with a 0-0 stalemate at home against Everton on Thursday.

Villa had 13 shots and struggled to create any clear-cut chances with 0.56 expected goals. They defended well and kept their first clean sheet in eight matches.

The result leaves Villa winless in five of their last six Premier League matches. Recent points for Dean Smith’s side have come from A 2-2 home draw against West Brom and a 2-1 away win at Everton two weeks ago.

After a promising start to the Premier League season, Villa’s push for a European place has faded recently as they have fallen to 11th due to their inconsistent form.

Aston Villa Injuries & Team News

Striker Ollie Watkins will return to the squad after serving his one-match suspension.

Defender Tyrone Mings should be available after a knock against Everton.

Full-back Matty Cash and midfielder Morgan Samson are doubtful.

Midfielder Trézéguet is ruled out with a long-term injury.
