English Premier Top 4 2019/2020 Predictions, Betting Odds & Tips

Finishing in the top 4 spots in the English Premier League guarantees a team entry into the following season's UEFA Champions League competition, one of the most prestigious cup competitions in world football.

Last season's race for the top 4 saw the top two spots occupied by Liverpool and Manchester City, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea all fighting for the remaining two positions.

Chelsea snuck into third place on the final day, Tottenham limping over the line into fourth just one point above London rivals Arsenal.

This year's race promises to be very interesting with Liverpool and Manchester City seemingly guaranteed the division's top two places once again. Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are expected to battle it out once again, but the clubs are in a very different shape to what they were last season.

2019/20 English Premier League Top 4 Tips

Tottenham are the most settled of the four clubs likely to be competing for the Champions League places. The North London club have finally moved into their new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium which could be a big boost after playing home games at Wembley.

Mauricio Pochettino is a man who has built a squad around consistency. The squad that will line up for Spurs at the end of the season is likely to be incredibly similar to the one that took them all the way to the Champions League final last season.

Keiran Trippier is the club’s only notable loss with the England World Cup hero making a surprise move to Athletico Madrid. The arrival of French midfielder Tanguy Ndombele for a club-record £65 million will excite fans with moves being made for Giovani Lo Celso and Paulo Dybala.

Every transfer window that the club manage to keep hold of Harry Kane also has to be viewed as a success. The England striker will surely be back among the top goalscorers if he can avoid injury.

Tottenham are currently available for a top 4 finish at 1.50 with bet365

Tottenham’s North London rivals Arsenal can join Spurs in the top four and they are the best-valued club with bet365 at odds of 2.50.

After a mixed debut campaign which saw the club lose in the UEFA Europa League final to Chelsea, Unai Emery will have learned from his mistakes in the first campaign and will aim to improve on their fifth-placed finish.

Arsenal are also likely to qualify because both Chelsea and Manchester United look as though they could be in for tough campaigns.

Manchester United are in free fall at the moment. Another underwhelming transfer window coupled with a poor run of form at the end of last season means another sixth-placed finish, if not lower, could be on the cards this season.

Chelsea are the real dark horses this campaign, with the loss of Eden Hazard and the beginning of their transfer ban unlikely to make Frank Lampard’s life easy. Appointing Lampard is a gamble for the Blues, one which could go either way.

Chelsea fans are likely to be incredibly forgiving given the circumstances. Given their current situation, achieving a top-four finish ahead of Tottenham and Arsenal would be an excellent campaign from Frank Lampard’s men.
