Everton vs Man United Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

The battle for European places continues as Everton host Man United in an English Premier League fixture at Goodison Park. The Toffees have looked good since the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti and are tipped to hold their own at home against Man United.

Everton Form

Everton are coming off a 3-2 defeat at Arsenal last time out in the Premier League. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison got the goals in what was an open encounter.

It was only the second defeat in 12 matches for Everton who are in the mix for a European place. The Toffees will be pleased to return to Goodison Park where they are unbeaten in their last six matches.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti is still struggling to solve the team’s defensive problems having kept just one clean sheet in their last eight matches.

Everton News

Midfielder Andre Gomez made his return from injury with a substitute appearance at Arsenal is pushing for a start on Sunday. Winger Theo Walcott is likely to miss out through injury while Jean-Philippe Gbamin remains a long-term absentee.

Manchester United Form

Man United were rampant in their last Premier League outing as they claimed a 3-0 home victory over Watford. Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring with his first goal for the club while Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial were also on target.

The Red Devils are just three points behind Chelsea in fourth position having gone unbeaten in their last three Premier League matches. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have however struggled at the back having conceded in 16 of their last 18 away matches.

Manchester United News

Man United are not likely to make too many changes to the team that beat Watford with Anthony Martial expected to once again lead the line. Midfielder Paul Pogba and striker Marcus Rashford remain sidelined with injury.

Man United have an 82-55 advantage with 44 draws from 181 previous matches against Everton. The reverse fixture at Old Trafford ended in a 1-1 draw with Victor Lindelof’s own goal giving Everton the lead while Mason Greenwood struck the equaliser for United.

Everton vs Man United Betting Odds

There is little to separate both teams among bookmakers with Unibet offering 2.58 for an Everton win while a victory for Man United is priced at 2.85. William Hill is paying 3.30 for a draw which was the outcome in the reverse fixture.

Everton produced over 4.5 goals in their last fixture and a similar outcome is priced at 7.50 at betfair who are paying 3.60 for over 3.5 goals. Unibet has the best odds for over 2.5 goals at 2.02 while BTTS is valued at 1.76.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison have been the standout players for Everton this season having combined for 22 Premier League goals. Both men were on target last time out against Arsenal and should trouble the United defence.

Man United will look to Anthony Martial for goals having scored in his last two matches. Bruno Fernandes has also impressed since moving in January and both men should cause the Everton defence problems.
