Head to Head

Everton have a 74-67 advantage against Newcastle with 36 draws in 177 matches.

The last met in the 2019/20 League Cup third round with Everton winning 2-0 in Sheffield.

Everton Form

Everton are sitting 7th in the Premier League after winning five of their last seven EPL matches. They beat Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal in successive matches in December.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side needed extra time to defeat Rotherham in the FA Cup. Cenk Tosun opened the scoring at Goodison Park with Abdoulaye Doucoure netting in extra time.

The Toffees won 2-1 at Wolverhampton with Alex Iwobi opening the scoring and Michael Keane netting the winner.

Everton returned home with an easy 3-0 home win against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Yerry Mina on target.

Everton’s last match was a 1-1 draw at home against Leicester. James Rodríguez opened the scoring and will be happy with the point after being on the back foot for large periods.

Everton Injuries & Team News

Everton are missing injured midfielders Allan, Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin.

Midfielder Abdoulaye Doucouré is available after suspension.

Newcastle Form

Newcastle have been slipping down the table with pressure mounting on Steve Bruce. They haven’t won since a 2-1 home win against West Brom on 12 December.

The Magpies have lost their last five Premier League matches. Newcastle lost 1-0 at Sheffield United, becoming the first team to lose to the Blades in the Premier League this season.

Newcastle took on Arsenal in and lost 3-0. They were completely outclassed in London after managing 34% possession and one shot on target.

Steve Bruce’s side lost 2-0 at Aston Villa, outclassed once again after creating 0.40 expected goals.

Newcastle showed some fight at home against Leeds on Tuesday. They had 22-9 shots at St. James’ Park, Miguel Almirón equalised in 2-1 defeat, Jamal Lewis hitting the woodwork in the second half.

Newcastle Injuries & Team News

Central defence remains an issue for Newcastle with Federico Fernández injured and Ciaran Clark doubtful.

Jamal Lewis should continue at left back with Paul Dummett injured. Right back DeAndre Yedlin has Visa issues and misses out.

Forward Allan Saint-Maximin should start after coming off the bench against Leeds. Saint-Maximin and Dwight Gayle were the only players to come off the bench against Leeds.
