Everton vs Sheffield United Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Everton are tipped to come out on top when they host Sheffield United in an English Premier League fixture at Goodison Park. The Toffies are on a six-match winning run at home, stretching back to last season and should ease past the newly promoted team, who have just one win this season.

Everton FC Form & Team News

Everton are coming off a 3-1 defeat at Bournemouth in their last Premier League fixture. They fell behind early in the contest before Dominic Calvert-Lewin grabbed an equaliser but they then went on to concede twice in the second half.

The Toffees have blown hot and cold this season but in all of this, have maintained a solid home form. Marco Silva’s men have won their last six home matches, stretching back to last season and are good value for another win on Saturday at odds of 1.61.

Richarlison and Alex Iwobi have been two of Everton’s standout players this season with both men combining for five goals in their last three matches. They should retain their place in the team while Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be given the nod in attack following his goal at Bournemouth.

Sheffield United FC Form & Team News

Sheffield United suffered a 1-0 defeat at home against Southampton in their previous Premier League outing. They lacked the cutting edge in attack, failing to make any of their 17 attempts on goal count.

Things have not been smooth for the Blades on their return to the topflight as they have claimed just one win in five matches. Chris Wilder’s men are not favoured by the bookies to get a result on Merseyside with a win valued at 5.50 while a draw is set at odds of 3.75.

Sheffield will be without captain Billy Sharpe, who was shown a late red card in the defeat to Southampton. Oliver McBurnie and David McGoldrick are set to continue their partnership in attack but both men have just one goal between them this season.

Everton vs Sheffield United Head to Head

Everton have a 41-34 advantage with 26 draws from 101 previous matches against Sheffield United. The Toffees are also unbeaten in the last five meetings, claiming three wins in that run, including a 3-1 home victory in the English League Cup back in 2011.

Everton vs Sheffield United Match Up

Everton have impressed going forward with Richarlison scoring three goals in as many matches while Alex Iwobi has found the net twice in that run. With Dominic Calvert-Lewin also coming off a goal in his last outing, the hosts have enough to trouble Sheffield.

The Toffees also maintain a solid defensive record at Goodison Park and are worth a shout in the win to nil market at 2.62 having kept clean sheets in five of their last six home matches. They will be confident of shutting out Oliver McBurnie and David McGoldrick, who have been poor for Sheffield this season.
