Liverpool vs Bournemouth Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Liverpool are set to return to winning ways as they host Bournemouth at Anfield. The Reds are the only team with a 100% home record in the EPL and are backed to make light work of the troubled Cherries.

Liverpool Form

Liverpool were disappointing in their last Premier League fixture as they lost 3-0 at Watford. It was an uncharacteristically poor display for the Premier League leaders who only mustered a single attempt on target throughout the 90 minutes.

The Reds are targeting a swift return to winning ways and will be pleased to return to Anfield where they have maintained a 100% record this season. Among their recent results at home is a 4-0 triumph over Southampton and a 5-2 victory against Everton.

Jurgen Klopp’s men also have a superb defensive record at Anfield where they have kept four clean sheets in their last five matches. At the other end of the pitch, Mohamed Salah remains a danger having scored 15 Premier League goals this season.

Liverpool News

Captain Jordan Henderson is still recovering from a hamstring injury. Centre back Joe Gomez is expected to return to the starting lineup after sitting out the defeat at Watford.

Bournemouth Form

Bournemouth played out a 2-2 draw against Chelsea in their previous Premier League fixture. They came from behind to take the lead thanks to goals from Jefferson Lerma and Joshua King before conceding late on.

Despite the result, the Cherries remain in the relegation zone having claimed just one win from their last five matches. Eddie Howe’s men have lost their last five away matches, a run which includes a 4-0 defeat at West Ham and a 3-0 loss to against Burnley.

Bournemouth News

Bournemouth are still without a number of players with defenders Chris Mepham and Charlie Daniels both sidelined with injury. Midfielders David Brooks and Arnaut Gronenveld are long term absentees.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth Head to Head

Liverpool have 10 wins and a draw while Bournemouth have claimed just one victory from 12 previous matches. The Reds claimed a 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture at the Vitality Stadium with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Mohamed Salah on target.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth Betting Odds

Liverpool are short priced with William Hill offering 1.24 for a home win. Bournemouth are valued at 13.00 for an unlikely victory at Anfield while bet365 is paying 6.50 for a draw.

Having claimed a 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture, the Reds are valued at 2.87 in the -2-handicap market while a win to nil is paying 1.95 at William Hill.

Mohamed Salah has seven goals in his last five matches against Bournemouth and is priced at 1.79 in the anytime goalscorer market while the first goal is valued at 4.10.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth Match Up

Mohamed Salah will be the one to watch for Liverpool having scored six goals in his last nine matches. The Egyptian also has seven goals in five matches against Bournemouth while Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have combined for six goals against the Cherries.

Bournemouth’s major problem is in defence having conceded two or more goals in four of their last five matches. They are also inconsistent in attack with Callum Wilson scoring just once in his last five appearances while Joshua King only just ended an eight-match goal drought.
