Man City Form

Man City dropped out of the Premier League’s top four after three defeats in their last five games. Pep Guardiola’s side are also in patchy long-term form, losing five of their previous nine in all competitions.

City lost two games in a row, 3-1 at Real Madrid and 2-0 at home against Liverpool. They hit back with consecutive victories over Tottenham 1-0 and Plymouth 3-1.

The Citizens' inconsistent spell continued on Saturday after a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest. City couldn’t score with 14 shots and conceded in the 82nd minute.

Brighton have reignited their Premier League top-four hopes after a recent upturn in form. The south coast side have won four league matches in a row and scored 11 goals.

The Seagulls beat Chelsea 3-0, Southampton 4-0 and Bournemouth 2-1. Those results were followed by a 1-1 FA Cup draw at Newcastle, which Brighton eventually won 2-1 in extra time.

Fabian Hürzeler’s outfit extended their unbeaten run to six matches in all competitions with a 2-1 win against Fulham. Jan Paul van Hecke cancelled out Fulham’s opener and Joao Pedro scored a 97th-minute winner.

Defenders Igor Julio, Ferdi Kadioglu, Joël Veltman and Lewis Dunk are ruled out due to injury.

Midfielder James Milner and goalkeeper Jason Steele are also injured and won’t feature.
