Rangers vs Ross County Predictions

Rangers should make light work of Ross County in Wednesday's Premiership contest at Ibrox. I'm putting my money on Rangers to win by at least two goals against their struggling visitors.

  • Rangers have won 15 of their last 17 Premiership matches.
  • Rangers have won by more than 1 goal in 6 of their last 8 matches (Premiership).
  • Ross County have lost by more than 1 goal in 6 of their last 7 away matches against Rangers.
  • Ross County have lost 7 of their last 9 matches .
  • Ross County have lost by 1+ goals in 4 of their last 7 defeats.

H2H Record

Wednesday's Premiership contest will be the 21st match between Rangers and Ross County. The Gers are unbeaten in all previous meetings, with 16 wins and four draws recorded since their first encounter in 2016.

Rangers Form

Rangers maintained their winning form with a hard-fought 2-0 win against Championship opponents Ayr United on Saturday. Goals from Borna Barisic and Fabio Silva secured the Gers place in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.

Phillipe Clement's on-form side have won each of their last six matches while they have lost just one of 24 games since the Belgian's arrival in October. The Glasgow giants have won all eight home league games since a 3-1 defeat against Aberdeen prior to Clement's appointment.

Rangers Team News

Head coach Clement is likely to make changes to his selection after a much-altered selection eased past Ayr at the weekend. Ridvan Yilmaz, Nico Raskin, Cyriel Dessers and Rabbi Matondo are among those hoping for a recall to the first XI.

On the injury front, Clement is unable to call on Danilo, Ben Davies and Kemar Roofe, who remain sidelined.

Ross County Form

Ross County make the long journey to Glasgow after a disastrous 5-0 defeat at Motherwell last week. Without a win in nine matches, the Staggies have parted ways with Derek Adams after an ill-fated 79 day tenure in the County hotseat. Don Cowie has been appointed on an interim basis.

Away from home, County have won just one of their last 14 Premiership fixtures (W1, D5, L8). Despite their miserable run of form in the Premiership, the Staggies remain six points above bottom-of-the-table Livingston.

Ross County Team News

Interim boss Cowie has no new injury issues ahead of his first match in the Staggies dugout. Michee Efete and Josh Sims are among those hoping to earn a recall to the County XI.

Ross Callachan is a long-term absentee with an ACL injury.

Verdict

Rangers should stroll to another three points on Wednesday.

I'm backing the Gers to cover a -1 handicap against an off-colour County.
