Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Tottenham Hotspur should have too much quality for Crystal Palace in their London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The hosts have a superb record in this fixture and have suffered just one defeat this season. With a comfortable home victory expected here, Spurs are backed in the handicap market.

Tottenham Hotspur Form & Team News

Tottenham Hotspur played out a 2-2 draw at Arsenal in the North London derby last time out in the Premier League. First half efforts from Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane gave them a two-goal lead but they were unable to hold on for the win.

Spurs are unbeaten in three of their four matches this season and have taken points off two of last season’s top six. Mauricio Pochettino’s men are short priced at 1.33 for a win on Saturday but having scored two or more goals in three of their last four matches, a -1 handicap bet is worth a punt at 2.00.

Harry Kane broke his August scoring jinx after netting three times in the opening four matches this season. He should retain his position in attack alongside the impressive Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-Min while summer signing Tanguy Ndombele remains sidelined with injury.

Crystal Palace FC Form & Team News

Crystal Palace secured a 1-0 victory at home against newly promoted Aston Villa in their previous Premier League outing. Jordan Ayew's effort midway through the second half proved to be the difference, although they will consider themselves lucky as Villa had a late equaliser wrongly ruled out.

The Eagles have been plagued by inconsistency this season with two wins from five matches across all competitions. Roy Hodgson’s men are not favoured to triumph at the London Stadium and are set at odds of 8.50 by the bookies while a draw is priced at 5.00.

Palace have struggled in attack this season with Jordan Ayew the biggest threat with two goals to his name. He should lead the line on Saturday alongside Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend who are still without a goal this season.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace Head to Head

Tottenham have 22 wins and 10 draws while Crystal Palace have been victorious just eight times from 40 previous matches. Spurs have won six of the last seven meetings and triumphed 2-0 in the corresponding fixture last season with Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen getting the goals.

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Match Up

As always Harry Kane will be the go-to-man for Spurs on Saturday having made a fine start to the season. With the creativity of Christian Eriksen and the tireless running of Son Heung-Min, the hosts should have enough to trouble the Palace backline.

Jordan Ayew appears to be the biggest threat for Crystal Palace these days, although he is often inconsistent. With Andros Townsend and Wilfried Zaha not at their best, the visitors could find things difficult at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
