Tottenham face Brighton in the Premier League on Sunday evening. Jose Mourinho’s team have made a strong start to the new season.

Tottenham Form

Despite being upset by Antwerp in the Europa League on Thursday, Jose Mourinho will be content with his team’s start to the season.

They sit 5th in the Premier League table after six matches and are unbeaten in their last five. The unbeaten run began with a 5-2 win away to Southampton.

This victory was followed up by a 1-1 draw with Newcastle and a hugely impressive 6-1 victory away to Manchester United.

A 3-3 draw with West Ham then came before their 1-0 win over Burnley last time out. Heung-Min Son scored the only goal of the game as their impressive away form continued in the Premier League.

Tottenham Team News

Defender Japhet Tanganga is a doubt for Spurs with a muscle injury. Jose Mourinho made four half-time substitutes in the Europa League on Thursday and is unlikely to make any changes from the 1-0 win at Burnley.

Brighton Form

Brighton may have impressed some with their performances, but they crucially need to turn them into points.

Graham Potter’s team have failed to win in their last five games in all competitions, drawing each of their last two in the Premier League. Both have been 1-1 draws, starting with their trip to Crystal Palace.

The Seagulls took the lead at home to West Brom through a Jake Livermore own goal last week, but again settled for a point after Karlan Grant’s 83rd minute equaliser.

Brighton are one of the most aesthetically pleasing teams to watch in the Premier League but that will count for nothing if they continue to not win games.

Brighton Team News

Brighton captain Lewis Dunk is suspended following his red card at Crystal Palace.

Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Jose Izquierdo and Florin Andone are all ruled out with injuries.

Tottenham vs Brighton Head to Head

Spurs have won 15 of the meetings between these sides while Brighton have 7 wins. There have also been 8 draws.

Tottenham won 2-1 the last time these two sides met in the Premier League on Boxing Day.

Tottenham vs Brighton Match Up

Tottenham have scored goals for fun in the Premier League this season, netting 16 goals in their last 5 matches. Brighton meanwhile have conceded 10 goals in their last 3 defeats and will again be without their best defender in Lewis Dunk.

Spurs’ attacking talent should be too much for Brighton to handle.
