Tottenham will aim to continue their resurgence as they welcome Burnley to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for an English Premier League fixture on Saturday. Spurs have looked a different team under Jose Mourinho and should ease past the inconsistent Clarets.

Tottenham Form

Tottenham have shown plenty of improvement since Jose Mourinho became manager and have won their last two home matches. They claimed a 4-2 victory over Olympiacos in the Champions League before last weekend’s 3-2 triumph against Bournemouth thanks to a brace from Dele Alli.

Tottenham suffered a 2-1 defeat at Man United on Wednesday in a game where they matched their hosts throughout.

Spurs appear to have rediscovered their attacking verve and were dominant against Bournemouth with five attempts on target and 2.93 expected goals. A number of players look to be back to their best in recent weeks, including Harry Kane who has four goals in his last four home matches.

Tottenham News

Spurs have no new injury concerns with Hugo Lloris and Ben Davies already long-term absentees. Erik Lamela is nearing a return from a hip problem and could be available on Saturday.

Burnley Form

Burnley failed to build on back-to-back wins over West Ham and Watford as they lost 2-0 at home against Crystal Palace. They lost their last EPL fixture 4-1 at home to champions Man City in a game they were totally outclassed.

Sean Dyche’s men often struggle for consistency and head to London with five defeats in their last seven Premier League fixtures. They have also found things difficult on their travels with two defeats in their last three away matches.

Burnley News

Midfielder Ashley Westwood has served a one match suspension but is still doubtful for Saturday’s clash with a groin problem. Charlie Taylor is also a doubt with a hamstring injury while Johann Berg Gudmundsson is ruled out, also with a hamstring problem.

Tottenham vs Bournemouth Head to Head

Tottenham have a 32-31 advantage with 20 draws from 83 previous matches against Burnley. Spurs have also won four of the last five meetings and claimed a 1-0 victory in the most recent fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Christian Eriksen getting the goal.

Tottenham vs Burnley Betting Odds

Tottenham are short priced at home at odds of 1.40 while Burnley are backed at 7.00 with a draw offered at odds of 4.75 at bet365. Spurs have seen over 4.5 goals in their last two home matches and are valued at 4.33 to serve up a similar outcome while over 3.5 goals is paying 2.50 and over 2.5 goals is set at odds of 1.57.

Harry Kane has four goals in his last four home matches and is backed at 1.53 to score anytime with the first goal priced at 3.25.

Tottenham vs Burnley Match Up

Harry Kane will be tasked with leading the line for Tottenham on Saturday having scored four goals in his last four home matches. He should combine well with Son Heung-Min and Dele Alli who has a new lease on life under Jose Mourinho.

Burnley have lost their trademark grit and defensive solidity and have conceded 11 goals in their last five matches. They should struggle against the Spurs forward line that has looked exciting in recent weeks.
