Tottenham vs Wolves Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

The quest for European football continues as Tottenham host Wolves in an English Premier League fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs have struggled lately with injuries to key players and face a daunting task against a dangerous Wolves side.

Tottenham Form

Tottenham head into Monday’s match following a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea in their last Premier League fixture. They went two goals down before pulling one back through Antonio Rudiger’s own goal.

Spurs have looked slightly off colour in recent weeks with manager Jose Mourinho bemoaning their lack of attacking firepower following injuries to strikers Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane. Despite all of this, they are still unbeaten in four of their last five fixtures and claimed a 2-0 victory over Manchester City in their previous home fixture.

Tottenham News

Forward Son Heung-Min is ruled out, possibly for the rest of the season and joins striker Harry Kane and midfielder Moussa Sissoko who are already long-term absentees. Winger Erik Lamela has impressed off the bench in recent weeks and could be given a start on Sunday.

Wolverhampton Form

Wolves were in fine form in their previous Premier League outing as they claimed a 3-0 victory over Norwich. Diogo Jota netted a first half brace while Raul Jimenez added the third after the break.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are just one point behind Spurs as they continue to push for a European finish. They are unbeaten in five of their last six Premier League matches and played out a 0-0 draw at Man United in their last away fixture.

Wolverhampton News

Wolves have no new injuries or suspensions with Phil Ofosu-Ayeh the only player currently sidelined.

Tottenham vs Wolves Head to Head

Tottenham have 36 wins and 15 draws while Wolves have claimed 22 victories from 73 previous matches. Spurs claimed a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture at Molineux with Lucas Moura and Jan Vertonghen getting the goals while Adama Traore was on target for Wolves.

Tottenham vs Wolves Betting Odds

Tottenham are priced at 2.45 for a win at unibet while a victory for Wolves is valued at 3.10. Bet365 is offering 3.30 for a draw which could be a popular pick among punters.

The last meeting at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium produced over 3.5 goals which is priced at 2.87 at betfair while William Hill is offering 1.73 for over 2.5 goals.

Tottenham vs Wolves Match Up

Given Tottenham’s depleted forward line, Jose Mourinho is likely to adopt a more conservative approach to keep Wolves at bay. They have plenty of pace and movement in attack with Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela who are expected to trouble the Wolves defence.

Diogo Jota will be the one to watch for Wolves with the forward back to his best after netting a brace last time out. Playing alongside Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore, Wolves have enough quality to cause the Spurs backline problems.
