Manager Arne Slot was sensationally sacked after a 1-1 draw in Naples. It emerged he had confirmed to take over at Feyenoord next season, the club didn’t hesitate and hired assistant manager Pascal Jansen until the end of the season.

Jansen’s first match in charge was a tough 2-1 home defeat to Groningen. Fredrik Midtsjø was sent off in the 57th minute and Bruno Martins Indi followed in the 85th minute.

AZ lost 2-1 at Croatian club Rijeka that ended their Europa League campaign. A win would have sent them through, but Jesper Karlsson’s 80th minute red card hindered their chances and they conceded in the 92nd minute.

AZ Alkmaar bounced back in the Eredivisie with a 3-1 win at Twente. Teun Koopmeiners scored two goals either side of Yukinari Sugawara.

Alkmaar’s last match was a 5-3 home win against Willem II. They were 2-0 down but Koopmeiners score two more with Calvin Stengs, Fredrik Midtsjø and Jesper Karlsson completing the turnaround.

AZ Alkmaar centre back Bruno Martins Indi is injured alongside Ron Vlaar and right back Jonas Svensson.

Central midfielder Jordy Clasie is injured and attacking midfielder Dani de Wit is doubtful.

Midfielder Teun Koopmeiners is destined for big things. The 22-year-old has registered six goals and three assists in his last six matches.

Vitesse Form

Vitesse are currently third in the Eredivisie. The Arnhem club won six of seven matches before an unlucky 2-1 defeat at PEC Zwolle after Idrissa Touré was sent off.
