Tottenham Hotspur needed a replay to knock out Southampton in the FA Cup 4th round. Premier League club West Ham United were knocked out at home by Championship club West Bromwich Albion. 

Burnley suffered a  2-1 home defeat to Norwich City while Bournemouth were another Premier League Club to exit the FA Cup after a 2-1 home loss against Arsenal.

2019-20 FA Cup Quarterfinal Fixtures


Holders Manchester City travel to Newcastle United in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Arsenal visit Sheffield United, Chelsea are away to Leicester while Norwich host Manchester United. The FA cup quarterfinals will be played across the weekend of 21 and 22 March.

When is the FA Cup?

The FA Cup runs from August to May each year.

Who qualifies for the FA Cup?

Qualification for the FA Cup is open to any eligible club from Level 10 of the English football league system and all 92 professional clubs in the Premier Leagueand the English Football League. Non-League teams in Steps 1 to 6 of the National League System (Levels 5 to 10) also qualify for the FA Cup.

Who has won the most FA Cups?

Arsenal have won the most FA Cups, the Gunners are the most successful club in FA Cup history with 13 wins. Manchester United close behind with 12 wins.

How does FA Cup draw work?

The FA Cup draw sees the first six rounds making up the Qualifying Competition, from which 32 teams progress to the first round which includes the 48 professional teams from Leagues One and Two. The last clubs to enter are the Premier League and Championship clubs who join the draw for the Third Round.

How many rounds are in the FA Cup?

The FA Cup consists of 12 rounds followed by the semi-finals and the final.
