National League South side Hampton & Richmond Borough host League Two Oldham in the first round of the FA Cup on Sunday. It is a repeat of their 2018 first round clash at The Beveree Stadium, but will Oldham avoid a giantkilling for a second time?

Hampton & Richmond kicked off their FA Cup campaign with a 1-0 away win over Corinthians in the second qualifying round at the start of October.

The sixth-tier side needed a penalty shoot-out to get the better of Hornchurch at home in the third qualifying round. After a 2-2 draw, Hampton & Richmond won 4-3 on penalties.

A spot in the first round proper was booked when they won 1-0 at Hemel Hempstead in the fourth qualifying round. Both sides had a man sent off in the game, but it was Niko Muir's seventh minute goal that proved the difference.

The Beavers have played four games in the National League South this season. Gary McCann's side started with just one point from the first three games, but got their first win with a 2-0 victory at Oxford City last weekend.

Niko Muir scored the winner in the final qualifying round and will be out to perform more heroics for Hampton & Richmond.

Defender Myles Anderson has joined on loan from Weymouth and could feature, while winger Wilson Carvalho made his debut in the last round and is expected to start.

Oldham Form

Oldham have been one of the most inconsistent sides since the season start, winning six times and losing seven. They have failed to string successive wins together since early February.

Harry Kewell's side have picked up two wins from their last three games. They won 2-1 at bottom of the table Southend but needed an 89th minute winner from Zak Dearnley, and saw off Cheltenham 2-1 with on loan Harry Clarke scoring five minutes from time.

In between those was a 2-0 defeat to Salford City in which Oldham mustered up just one shot on goal. With six defeats from 11 games, Oldham find themselves sixth from bottom in League Two.

Boss Harry Kewell is without captain Carl Piergianni after he tested positive for coronavirus.

Forward Zak Dearnley has been in good goalscoring form, but was forced off injured after nine minutes against Cheltenham and is a doubt. Dylan Bahamboula will deputise.

David Wheater remains on the sidelines for Oldham.
