Head to Head
Leicester lead 10-7 in 23 matches against Brighton with six draws. They last met in mid-December 2020 in the English Premier League where Leicester won 3-0 at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester progressed to the FA Cup 5th round with a 3-1 victory at Championship side, Brentford in late January 2021.
Since that victory The Foxes have seen a mixed bag of results. They returned to the English Premier League to draw 1-1 at Everton before losing 3-1 at home to Leeds.
Leicester bounced back to defeat relegation threatened Fulham 2-0 away but then drew their last match 0-0 at Wolves. The match was largely dominated by Leicester which left Brendon Rodgers frustrated given that victory would have pushed them into second place in the Premier League.
Leicester Injuries & Team News
Brendon Rodgers can recall midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and star forward Jamie Vardy for this FA Cup match. With Liverpool just three days away, he may however only start them on the bench.
Centre-back Wesley Fofana will be out for a few weeks while the versatile Timothy Castagne has also been ruled out. Right-back Ricardo Pereira is expected to get a rest after only recently returning from a serious knee injury.
Brighton are on a six-match unbeaten run currently which includes their 2-1 victory at home against Blackpool in the FA Cup.
Prior to beating Blackpool, Brighton beat Leeds 1-0 away in the Premier League. They then drew 0-0 at home to Fulham before upsetting the odds by beating Tottenham 1-0 at home.
Graham Potter’s team was not quite done with the upsets as he masterminded a 1-0 victory at Liverpool in the next match. At the weekend Brighton drew 1-1 at Burnley with centre-back Lewis Dunk scoring in the 36th minute.
Brighton Injuries & Team News
Danny Welbeck returned from injury against Burnley and should get a start here.
Centre-back Adam Webster is injured after rolling his ankle at the weekend so Dan Burn is likely to move into central defence.
Right-back Tariq Lamptey and left-back Solly March are still on the treatment table with an expected return date not finalised.
Potter could opt to rest a couple of players which may offer the opportunity to see the debut of new signing, Moises Caicedo.
