Liverpool vs Shrewsbury Preview, Predictions and Betting Tips

Liverpool host Shrewsbury in the FA Cup fourth round replay at Anfield. Jürgen Klopp won’t be in charge and his stars are unavailable, meaning Liverpool’s U23 side will be in action against the League One club.

Liverpool Form

Liverpool have dominant this season, especially at Anfield where they have won 16 and drawn twice in their last 18 home matches in all competitions. The Reds beat Southampton 4-0 on Saturday, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jordan Henderson putting Liverpool 2-0 up before Mohamed Salah bagged a brace. Roberto Firmino provided three assists.

The win means that Jürgen Klopp’s side have an unassailable 22-point lead over Manchester City in the Premier League. Liverpool have kept six straight clean sheets at home with the central defensive partnership of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez standing strong.

Klopp rested most of his stars in the 2-2 draw at Shrewsbury in the FA Cup fourth round. A Curtis Jones strike and Donald Love own goal put the Reds 2-0 up, but they couldn’t hold on which forced a replay at Anfield.

Liverpool News

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that no first team players will be involved against Shrewsbury. U23 head coach Neil Critchley will take charge of a team made up of youngsters including Neco Williams, Harvey Elliott, Luis Longstaff, Thomas Hill, Pedro Chirivella, Ki-Jana Hoever and Yasser Larouci.
