Man City vs Plymouth Preview

Man City have been struggling this season but should relish a return to the FA Cup. It’s the only title Pep Guardiola’s side can win, and I think they will be too good for Plymouth.

Man City Form

Man City have been below their best this season and unable to gain any momentum. They recently went out of the Champions League in the play-offs after a 6-3 aggregate defeat to Real Madrid.

Pep Guardiola’s side returned to the Premier League with a 2-0 loss against Liverpool.

The Citizens got back to winning ways in London on Wednesday, Erling Haaland scoring in a 1-0  win against Tottenham.

Plymouth Form

Plymouth have won three of their previous four home matches, including a 1-0 victory against Liverpool in the FA Cup. They have one road win all season, 1-0 at Brentford, also in the FA Cup.

Miron Muslic’s side haven’t won in three games, starting with a 2-0 defeat at Blackburn. Their previous two games have ended in draws, 1-1 at Luton and 1-1 against Cardiff which leaves them in the Championship relegation zone.

Injuries

John Stones and Manuel Akanji are injured with midfielder Rodri out for the season.

Plymouth defenders Joe Edwards and Brendan Galloway are injured alongside forwards Muhamed Tijani and Ryan Hardie.

Verdict

The FA Cup is Man City’s only chance of a title this season and I expect a dominant performance against Plymouth. The Pilgrims struggle to score on the road and that should continue in Manchester.
