Millwall vs Dagenham & Redbridge Preview

Millwall don’t concede many goals and are likely to have enough quality to get past non-league Dagenham & Redbridge. The Daggers are in patchy form and the Lions are tipped for an FA Cup win to nil.

Head to Head

Millwall have a 1-0 advantage against Dagenham & Redbridge in two meetings with one draw. The Lions beat the Daggers 5-0 when the sides last met at the Den.

Millwall Form

Millwall are comfortably in the Championship’s mid-table. The Lions have won seven league games this season, with six victories and just 10 goals conceded at the Den.

Alex Neil’s team are unbeaten in three of their last five, which started with a 1-0 home victory over Blackburn. Millwall followed that result with losses against Norwich (2-1) and Oxford (1-0) and a 0-0 draw with Coventry.

The South Londoners played out a 2-2 draw at Sheffield Wednesday last time out. George Honeyman and Ryan Wintle responded to the Owl’s opener but Millwall conceded a late equaliser.

Millwall Injuries & Team News

Centre-back Jake Cooper and full-back Callum Scanlon are in contention to return after recent injuries.

Forward duo Aidomo Emakhu and Josh Coburn are unavailable due to injury.

19-year-old Romain Esse has five goals and one assist in all competitions and is likely to start.

Dagenham & Redbridge Form

Dagenham & Redbridge’s FA Cup journey started in October when they beat Leiston 5-1. A 1-0 victory at Crewe and a 2-1 win against AFC Wimbledon followed.

The Daggers’ form has dipped since they beat Wimbledon and they are winless in five of their last seven. Ben Strevens’ side lost two in a row against Wealdstone 3-0 and Braintree 4-2 before a 2-0 win over Ebbsfleet.

The Nationa League side couldn’t secure back-to-back victories and were held to a 1-1 draw at Forest Green. Josh Rees scored in the 90th minute but the Daggers conceded in second-half injury time.

Dagenham & Redbridge Injuries & Team News

Dagenham & Redbridge have no injuries or suspensions here.

Top scorer Dion Pereira is likely to start on Monday. He has scored nine goals in 20 league starts this season.

Verdict

Millwall give little away at home and can progress in the FA Cup against an inconsistent Dagenham & Redbridge. The Lions often see low-scoring results at the Den and a home win to nil has good value on Monday.
