Plymouth’s 1-0 victory over the Premier League leaders, Liverpool, goes down as one of the biggest shocks in FA Cup history according to bookmaker Coral, with the Championship’s bottom side 14-1 outsiders to win the fourth round match.
“Plymouth were 14-1 outsiders to win the match in 90 minutes, while Liverpool were 20-1 ON to progress to the fifth round, so the 1-0 win for the home side undoubtedly goes down as one of the greatest FA Cup shocks ever,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
“The defeat has also ended Liverpool’s hopes of a quadruple in Arne Slot’s first season as manager, the odds on which had been slashed from 500-1 to 33-1 before this reverse,” added Stevens.
