2025 FIFA Club World Cup Trophy

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is dominating the headlines after the match schedule was released, all 32 teams with a clear path to the final. The discussion now moves to the prize money which is expected to smash all records for a club tournament.

The prize money for the 2023 edition was $16 million, a sum which is expected to blow out to $2.65 billion, making the Club World Cup one of the most lucrative tournaments in world football.

FIFA are yet to confirm the prize money for the 2025 Club World Cup as president Gianni Infantino continues to shop the event to sponsors.

There is a suggestion that each club will be awarded $50 million for participating, a figure that appears excessive, particularly for minnows including Mamelodi Sundowns, Esperance de Tunis, Wydad and Auckland City.

A more realistic amount could be in the region of $5 to $30 million depending on the club, alongside bonuses for wins and advancing past the group stage.

One thing is sure, clubs will go home with a significant boost to their bank balances after competing in the tournament, with the winner expected to receive around $100 million.
