Tigres beat Ulsan Hyundai 2-1 in the FIFA Club World Cup second round. They fell behind but struck back with André-Pierre Gignac scoring both goals.

Gignac was on target again in the semi-finals, a 1-0 win against Palmeiras. It was a close match with few chances.
