England made an expected winning start to the FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign when defeating San Marino 5-0 at Wembley on Thursday.

Gareth Southgate's side had 31 shots at goal and 15 on target in a one-sided game. James Ward-Prowse, Dominic Calvert-Lewis (two), Raheem Sterling and debutant Ollie Watkins got the goals.

England were 4-0 winners over Iceland when last in action in their previous international in November in the UEFA Nations League

Bukayo Saka and Kyle Walker are also unlikely to feature in Albania, while Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been left out of the squad.

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, midfielders Jordan Henderson and Jack Grealish and forwards Jordan Sancho are ruled out with injury.
