Australia vs Chinese Taipei Predictions

Australia returned to international football with a big win. They now meet Chinese Taipei who have conceded 27 goals in six qualifiers so far.

Australia have won 8-0 and 7-1 in their last two matches against Chinese Taipei and can cover the -6 handicap.

  • Australia have won their last two matches against Chinese Taipei by 6+ goals (World Cup Qualifiers).
  • Australia have won 4 of their last 5 matches to nil (all competitions).
  • Chinese Taipei have lost 4 of their last 5 matches to nil (all competitions).

Head to Head

Australia have won both encounters against Chinese Taipei.

They won 8-0 in the first encounter in 2012 and won 7-1 away from home in the first World Cup qualifier in 2019, Adam Taggart and Jackson Irvine both netting doubles.

Australia Form

The Socceroos returned to the international stage in triumphant fashion.

Despite playing their first match in nearly two years, Australia cruised home to a 3-0 win over Kuwait.

Winger Matthew Leckie opened the scoring in the first minute, before ex-Burton Albion midfielder added a second just before the break.

Midfielder Ajdin Hrustic then netted his debut international goal with a spectacular long ranged free kick to seal an impressive victory.

Chinese Taipei Form

Chinese Taipei sit at the bottom of the group with 27 goals conceded and only the two scored in six matches.

They suffered their biggest defeat of the qualifiers against Kuwait in a 9-0 defeat away from home.

A trip to Jordan followed where the home side scored three first half goals in a dominant display. Despite an improved second half effort from Chinese Taipei, they still lost 5-0.

Their best chance at victory came in their most recent matcha against fellow minnows Nepal. But things turned sour early after Nepal scored in the third minute, before adding a second midway through the second half to win 2-0.
