Australia vs Jordan Predictions

Australia have looked impressive in their recent matches. Aside from their win against Nepal, Jordan have been inconsistent and struggle against the better teams.

I’m tipping Australia to win to nil.

  • Australia have won 5 of their last 7 matches to nil (World Cup Qualifiers).
  • Australia have won their last 7 matches (World Cup Qualifiers).
  • Jordan have seen BTTS No in their last 2 matches (World Cup Qualifiers).
  • Jordan have seen BTTS No in 4 of their last 5 matches against Australia (all competitions).

Head to Head

Australia and Jordan have won three games each in the head to head with no draws in six encounters.

Their last meeting saw Australia pick up a 1-0 win in a tight affair in Jordan. Striker Adam Taggart netted the match’s only goal in the 13th minute to give the Socceroos a valuable three points.

Australia Form

Despite playing their first match in nearly two years, Australia cruised home to a 3-0 win over Kuwait.

Winger Matthew Leckie opened the scoring in the first minute, before midfielders Jackson Irvine and Ajdin Hrustic added goals of their own.

A 5-1 win over Chinese Taipei followed with Western Sydney forward Mitchell Duke scoring a brace and Stoke defender Harry Souttar heading his fifth international goal.

Australia’s winning streak continued when they defeated Nepal 3-0. Leckie opened the scoring before right back Fran Karacic scored his debut international goal.

The result was put beyond doubt when winger Martin Boyle added a third in the 57th minute, ten minutes after Nepal were reduced to ten men.

Jordan Form

Jordan sit second in the group with one match remaining.

Their preparation for the qualifiers was not the best as they went down 5-1 to the UAE before holding Vietnam to a 1-1 draw.

But the Jordanians managed to turn this around as they defeated Nepal 3-0. Striker Baha’ Faisal scored a brace before defender Yazan Al-Arab headed home the sealer.

A goalless draw with Kuwait followed, which saw Jordan climb into second. Despite picking up an important point, Jordan failed to take advantage of Kuwait going down to ten men.
