Fernando Batista’s side beat Mexico 1-0 thanks to Salomón Rondón’s penalty. They kept it going against Jamaica, winning 3-0 with Eduard Bello, Rondón and Eric Ramírez on target.

The Wine-Red went close in the quarter-finals, Rondón equalising to secure a 1-1 draw against Canada. They were poor in the penalty shootout which saw their tournament end.
