Brazil vs Ecuador Predictions

Brazil should be far too good for Ecuador in the World Cup qualifiers. With Neymar back in the squad, expect a comfortable win for the Seleção in Porto Alegre.

  • Brazil have won to nil in their last 7 home matches (World Cup qualifiers).
  • Brazil have won by 2+ goals in 6 of their last 7 home matches (World Cup qualifiers).
  • Brazil have won their last 5 home matches against Ecuador (World Cup qualifiers).
  • Ecuador have failed to score in their last 4 matches against Brazil (all competitions).
  • Ecuador have lost 7 of their last 9 away matches (World Cup qualifiers).
  • Ecuador have lost to nil in 2 of their last 4 away matches (World Cup qualifiers).

Head to Head

Brazil have a 24-2 advantage against Ecuador with 4 draws in 30 matches.

Ecuador haven’t scored in their last four games against Brazil.

Brazil Form

Brazil have had a perfect start to the World Cup qualifiers, winning all four matches.

The Seleção beat Bolivia 5-0 before a 4-2 win in Peru with Neymar scoring a hat-trick. Neymar missed the next two matches but wasn’t required.

Tite’s side won 1-0 against Venezuela with Roberto Firmino scoring the winner. Brazil’s last match was a 2-0 win in Uruguay with Arthur and Richarlison on target.

La Tri beat Uruguay 4-2 after leading 4-0 and won 3-2 in Bolivia thanks to a late Carlos Gruezo penalty.

Gustavo Alfaro’s side saved the best for last, crushing Colombia 6-1 at home. Robert Arboleda, Ángel Mena, Michael Estrada, Xavier Arreaga, Gonzalo Plata and Pervis Estupiñán were all on target in Quito.

Ecuador won 2-1 in a friendly against Bolivia in March. Fidel Martínez and Michael Estrada scored in Sangolqui.

Ecuador’s defence lacks international experience. 36-year-old Christian Noboa anchors the midfield.

Fenerbahce striker Enner Valencia has scored 31 goals in 56 internationals.

Brazil are the form team in the South American World Cup qualifiers and get Neymar back from injury. I am backing a comfortable home win against an Ecuador side with a suspect defence.
