England World Cup Squad Odds – James Maddison odds-on to make England World Cup squad
- England must name 26-man squad by 16:00 GMT on Monday
- Gareth Southgate expected to include Leicester star Maddison

James Maddison’s recent good form looks set to earn him a place in England’s World Cup squad, according to the bookmakers.
Manager Gareth Southgate has named his 55-man preliminary squad but must trim that down to 26 in the coming days.
The deadline for World Cup squads to be confirmed is 16:00 GMT on Monday, November 14.
And according to bookmaker William Hill, Leicester City star Maddison is likely to be part of the final group.
Maddison, who has six goals and four assists in the Premier League this season, is just 4/9 to be in the group that heads to Qatar.
“Much of Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad picks itself, but there are certainly a few places still up for grabs,” William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps told FreeTips.com.
“James Maddison’s creativity is viewed by many as something that Southgate needs in Qatar and we expect the Leicester midfielder to be part of things.”
Kalvin Phillips, despite only playing 13 minutes of competitive football this season, also expected to be on the plane at 8/15.
In defence, William Hill expect Harry Maguire (1/12) Trent Alexander-Arnold (1/10) and Kyle Walker (1/6) to be involved, with forward Ivan Toney (1/3) viewed as the most likely back-up to Harry Kane.
“We also think Trent Alexander-Arnold will be [in England’s World Cup squad] too,” Phelps added.
“Harry Kane is the first name on the team sheet, but there has been much speculation over who will serve as his deputy, and we think Ivan Toney might be the man.”
