A 0-0 draw away to El Salvador was followed by a 1-1 draw at home to Canada in the opening two games of the campaign.

Trailing by a goal away to Honduras at half-time, USMNT scored four times in the second half to claim victory and now sit in second place behind Mexico after three games.

USMNT welcome back veteran pair Paul Arriola and Gyasi Zardes after both missed the last round of qualifying.

Gianluca Busio, Matthew Hoppe and Shaq Moore also missed the opening qualifiers are are back in the US squad along with Yunus Musah and Tim Weah, who have both recovered from injuries.

Defender Tim Ream has withdrawn for family reasons and has been replaced by Walter Zimmerman. Christian Pulisic and Giovanni Reyna were already ruled out.

Jamaica's 1-0 defeat to the United States in the Gold Cup was part of a four-game losing run for the Reggae Boyz.

They brought the run of defeats to an end with a 1-1 draw at Costa Rica in their most recent qualifier with Shamar Nicholson getting a second-half equaliser.

Prior to that, Theodore Whitmore's side had started World Cup qualifying with back-to-back defeats to Mexico 2-1 and Panama 3-0.

Je-Vaughn Watson and Jeadine White have been handed recalls to the squad after impressing in the Jamaican Premier League.
