Wales are coming off a successful campaign in the UEFA Nations League B where they topped Group 4 ahead of Turkey, Iceland and Montenegro to earn promotion (three wins and three draws).

Craig Bellamy’s side gained early 2-0 lead in their mid-October clash against Reykjavik (Brennan Johnson and Harry Wilson on target) but allowed two unanswered goals in second half, the game ending in a 2-2 draw. A couple of days later, they beat Montenegro 1-0 at home.

In their November appearances, The Dragons held Turkey to a goalless draw in Istanbul and then defeated Iceland 4-1 in Cardiff, Liam Cullen man of the match scoring a brace.

Kazakhstan Form

Kazakhstan had a disastrous run in the UEFA Nations League B last season, winning just one point in six games while scoring just one goal and got relegated to a lower division.

After their goalless draw against Norway in the first round, they suffered two defeats to Slovenia 3-0 & 1-0 and Austria 4-0 & 2-0, while losing 5-0 to Norway in the reverse fixture in Oslo.

Kazakhstan played two international friendlies in 2025. They were beaten in the first one by DPR Korea 2-0 in mid-February, while beating Curacao with the same result two days later, Maksim Samorodov and Askhat Tagybergen on target in the first half.

Welsh captain Aaron Ramsey is going to miss this match due to a long-term injury, while Ethan Ampadu, Wes Burns and Harry Wilson are also ruled out. Kieffer Moore is the top scorer on this team with 13 goals, while Joe Allen has the most appearances (76).

As for the visitors, the only name on the injury list is Bakhtiyar Zaynutdinov, while Islambek Kuat, Serhiy Malyi and Abzal Beysebekov didn’t make it past the final cut.
