Borussia Monchengladbach suffered a fourth defeat in the last five matches when losing 2-1 away to Bochum on Tuesday.

Daniel Farke's side had also lost 2-1 to Darmstadt in the DFB Pokal, 3-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt and 2-1 to Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.

The only highlight of the last three weeks was a 3-1 victory over Stuttgart to continue a good run of form at home.

Borussia Dortmund saw a six-game unbeaten run come to an end in midweek when they lost 2-0 away to Wolfsburg.

Prior to that, Edin Terzic’s side drew 0-0 against Manchester City and 1-1 at FC Copenhagen in the Champions League to reach the Round of 16.
