Mumbai City vs Bengaluru Predictions

Leaders Mumbai City have hit a bit of a sticky patch but finishing top of the table remains in their own hands. With Bengaluru missing a number of players including first choice centre-backs, Mumbai can get things back on track.

  • Mumbai City have won 10 of their 16 matches this season (Indian Super League).
  • Mumbai City have won their last 4 matches against Bengaluru (Indian Super League).
  • Bengaluru have lost 6 of their last 11 matches (Indian Super League).
  • Bengaluru have failed to score in their last 2 matches (Indian Super League).

Head to Head

Mumbai City lead Bengaluru 4-2 in the head to head after winning 3-1 earlier in the season. There has also been one draw.

It is now four wins in a row for the Islanders, who were 2-0 up inside 15 minutes through Mourtada Fall and Bipin Singh in this season's first meeting.

A Sunil Chhetri penalty reduced the deficit before Bartholomew Ogbeche got a third for Mumbai, who also had Ahmed Jahouh sent off late in the game.

Mumbai City Form

One win in their last four matches for Mumbai City has opened up the race to finish top of the standings in the regular season.

Mumbai know that destiny remains in their own hands for the AFC Champions League qualification spot. But they are now just a point clear heading into the weekend games (second placed ATK Mohun Bagan played on Sunday).

It follows a 1-1 draw with Chennaiyin, a 2-1 loss to NorthEast United, a 2-1 win over Kerala Blasters and another draw with Goa.

Mumbai City's 3-3 draw with Goa in their most recent match was dramatic, but it did at least wrap up a spot in the finals.

Sergio Lobera's side led 2-0 thanks to Hugo Boumous and Adam Le Fondre goals. Gael Martins and Igor Angulo levelled for Goa.

Rowllin Borges thought he had won it for Mumbai with a 90th minute goal. But Ishan Pandita scored a 96th minute equaliser for The Gaurs.

Mumbai City Team News

Mumbai City midfielder Hugo Boumous is beginning a two-game ban for his injury-time sending off against Goa.

The absence of Boumous should lead to a recall to the midfield for Cy Goddard.

Bartholomew Ogbeche will hope to be handed a starting chance in place of Adam Le Fondre.

Bengaluru Form

Bengaluru are still in with a chance of making the finals, but a run of one win in their last 11 matches hasn't helped their cause.

The Blues ended an eight-game run without a win when defeating East Bengal 2-0.

But since then they have failed to score and collected a single point from two games. They are five points adrift of fourth place.

Naushad Moosa's had to settle for a draw when they were held 0-0 by Chennaiyin.

Bengaluru were no match for ATK Mohun Bagan on Tuesday as they lost 2-0. A Roy Krishna penalty and Marcelinho goal settled the game.

Bengaluru Team News

Centre-back Pratik Chaudhari sits this one out as he serves a one-game suspension.

Fellow centre-back Juanan is out for the season and full-back Rahul Bheke misses out with a knock.

Wingers Leon Augustine Asokan and Ashique Kuruniyan also remain on the sidelines.

Forward Cleiton Silva missed the defeat to ATK Mohun Bagan, but will return if passing a fitness test.
