Italy and Moldova meet in an international friendly at Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence on Wednesday. Italy are on a 16-game unbeaten run and haven't lost a game in more than two years.

Italy Form

Italy have won 12 of their last 13 matches and are on a 16-game unbeaten run. That stretches back to September 2018 when they lost to Portugal in a UEFA Nations League fixture.

Roberto Mancini's side returned to action in September with a 1-1 draw with Bosnia & Herzigovina in September. That is the only game they haven't won in the last 13 internationals.

Stefano Sensi cancelled out Edin Dzeko's opener in that UEFA Nations League fixture. Another midfielder got the only goal of the game against Holland three days later with Nicolo Barella sealing a 1-0 UEFA Nations League victory in Amsterdam.

Italy Team News

Roberto Mancini has named an 33-man squad for the friendly and subsequent UEFA Nations League games against Poland and Holland. He has doubts over a host of players due to coronavirus regulations.

Napoli trio Lorenzo Insigne, Alex Meret and Giovanni Di Lorenzo have all been left out because of coronavirus, but the Juventus players named may also have to miss the game against Moldova.

Marco Verratti is back in the squad after missing the last international games through injury, while three debutants are called up. The uncapped trio are goalkeepers Alessio Cragno and Marco Silvestri as well as Sassuolo forward Francesco Caputo.

Italy lacked a cutting edge in both UEFA Nations League games last month. The handicap has been set at -4, but Moldova haven't conceded five in a game since 2012 so a win to nil is the tip.
