Saudi Arabia vs Brazil Match Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Saudi Arabia will host Brazil at the King Saud University Stadium in an international friendly on Friday. The South Americans have looked imperious in their last two friendlies and should secure a comfortable win.

Saudi Arabia

The Green Falcons are coming off a thrilling 2-2 draw with Bolivia in their previous international outing back in September. They took a two-goal lead early in the first half through Yehya Al Shehri and Salem Al Dawsari but were pegged back by the South Americans after a couple of defensive errors.

The match against Bolivia was the first for Juan Antonio Pizzi's team since their group stage exit at the World Cup in Russia. Saudi Arabia have been plagued by defensive problems throughout Pizzi's spell as manager and have kept no clean sheets in their last seven matches.

Pizzi has retained much of the squad that faced Bolivia in September with Al Shehri and Al Dawsari both included. Both men have been the standout players for the Saudis in recent matches and are expected to start on Friday.

Brazil

The Selecao travel to Riyadh off the back of an impressive 5-0 victory over El Salvador. Everton’s Richarlison struck a brace while further goals from Neymar, Philippe Coutinho and Marquinhos handed Tite's team the emphatic win.

The South Americans, who are attempting to bounce back from their disappointing showing at the World Cup in Russia, have looked imperious in recent outings. They have won their last two matches scoring seven goals and conceding none.

The Brazilians will be without Real Madrid left-back Marcelo, who is currently sidelined with injury. However, the likes of Neymar, Richarlison and Roberto Firmino are all in the squad and are expected to feature on Friday while Coutinho will hope to add to his tally of four goals in eight matches for the team.

Head-to-Head

There have been only two previous matches involving Saudi Arabia and Brazil with the South Americans emerging victorious in both fixtures. The most recent meeting between both teams was a FIFA Confederations Cup clash in 1999 which the five-time world champions won 8-2.

Match-Up

Al Shehri and Al Dawsari appear to be the most dangerous players for Saudi Arabia at the moment. Both men have a great understanding in attack but are unlikely to trouble Joao Miranda and Marquinhos in the Brazilian defence.

The Brazilians boast some of the best attacking talent in world football at the moment with Neymar, Coutinho, Firmino and Richarlison. The skill, movement and technique of the forward line should be too much for Motaz Hawsawi and Omar Hawsawi at the back for Saudi Arabia.
