Mexico disappointed at the World Cup but are backed to return to winning ways in the CONCACAF Nations League. Having beaten Suriname 3-0 last year, I'm backing another win to nil.

Mexico beat Suriname 8-1 back in 1977 and were 3-0 winners in June last year in the Nations League as they met for only the second time.

Suriname started their Nations League Group A campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Jamaica in June before losing the reverse fixture 3-1 three days later.

The same month, they were beaten 3-0 away to Mexico to sit bottom of the group with just the single point.

When last in action in September, Aron Winter's side defeated Nicaragua 2-1 in a friendly before losing 5-0 to Dutch Eerste Divisie side Zwolle.

El Tri drew 0-0 with Poland and lost 2-0 to Argentina before bowing out by one goal despite a 2-1 victory over Saudi Arabia.

In the CONCACAF Nations League last summer, Mexico started with a 2-0 win over Suriname before being held to a 1-1 draw away to Group A leaders Jamaica.

Verdict

Mexico were 3-0 winners over Suriname at home in the reverse fixture last year. While Suriname are better at home, I'm still backing the same outcome with a win to nil for El Tri.
