The USA look far too short to back when considering previous matches between these sides on the Islands.

Trinidad are rarely beaten heavily on home soil, so I´m backing the Soca Warriors with a +3 handicap at Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The United States holds a commanding advantage in their head-to-head record against Trinidad & Tobago. Since 1985, the USA have emerged victorious in 23 matches, suffering only two defeats in their 29 previous encounters.

However, they fell to a 2-1 loss on their last visit to Port of Spain in 2017, while they have won only one of their last four away matches against the Soca Warriors.

Trinidad & Tobago & Tobago return home three goals down after a frustrating defeat in Texas on Friday. Reduced to ten men in the first half, Angus Eve´s men had held out bravely until three goals leaked in the final ten minutes at Q2 Stadium.

Usually stronger on home soil, T&T lost only one of their last 11 matches in Port of Spain over the past eighteen months. The Soca Warriors are unbeaten in five previous Nations League contests on their own patch after a 3-2 victory against Guatemala in October.

The US secured a somewhat flattering 3-0 win with late goals from Antonee Robinson, Ricardo Pepi and Geo Reynya, ensuring a solid first-leg advantage. Gregg Berhalter´s side have now lost only one of their last 16 matches since the end of January.

Away from home, the Stars and Stripes are unbeaten in their last five away Nations League matches, including a 2-0 win against Canada earlier this year.

Gregg Berhalter has no fresh injury issues after Friday´s win in Texas. Ricardo Pepi will hope for a place in the first XI after he opened the scoring in last week´s first leg.

Otherwise, the visitors are likely to retain a settled selection, with Gio Reyna again likely to keep his place after a long spell out of the national side.

Verdict

Trinidad & Tobago v USA

While the USA should have little difficulty in booking their place in the semi-final, I expect T&T to provide some decent resistance on Tuesday.

I´m backing the hosts to avoid a heavy defeat, so the +3 handicap looks like a solid choice at very decent odds.
