Bologna have a 2-1 advantage against Monza with 2 draws in 5 matches.

They last met in September, the game being won by Bologna 2-1.

Bologna Form

Bologna picked up nice form in November when it comes to Serie A matches, claiming nine out of possible twelve points and moved up to 8th place on the table.

They started the last month with back to back victories against Lecce 1-0 and Roma 3-2, before being thrashed by Lazio 3-0.

Vincenzo Italiano’s side bounced back last weekend with smooth 3-0 home victory against Venezia, Dan Ndoye scoring a brace, Riccardo Orsolini also on target.

Bologna having a disappointing run in the Champions League though, grabbing just one point in five games. Last week, they lost to Lille 2-1 at home.

Bologna Injuries & Team News

Midfielders Oussama El Azzouzi (knee surgery) and Michel Aebischer (adductor pain) are injured.

Striker Nicolo Cambiaghi is out for the season with cruciate ligament injury.

Monza Form

Judging by the early days, Monza are set to fight for survival in Serie A, currently sitting in the relegation zone with just 10 points from 14 matches.

They were defeated in their first two November appearances by AC Milan and Lazio, losing both home games by the same 1-0 scoreline.

The Biancorossi then snatched a point with a 1-1 draw at Torino, thanks to Milan Djuric’s second-half equalizer. Last weekend, they earned another point at Como with a 1-1 draw, as Gianluca Caprari converted a second-half penalty to tie the score.

In the previous Coppa Italia round, Monza eliminated Brescia 3-1 in late September, scoring all three goals in the first half.

Monza Injuries & Team News

Manager Alessandro Nesta can’t count on captain Matteo Pessina who suffered a tendon tear and won’t be back until February.

Stefano Sensi (muscle fatigue) and Alessio Crago (shoulder injury) are also ruled out.

Verdict

Monza have lost three of their last five Serie A matches to fall into the relegation zone. Bologna have won four of their last five league games and can beat their struggling opponents on Tuesday.
