Napoli crushed Fiorentina 6-0 at home in Serie A before a 2-0 defeat against Juventus in the Italian Super Cup. Insigne missed a chance to equalise from the penalty spot in the closing stages which proved costly.

I Partenopei returned to Serie A with a 3-1 defeat at Hellas Verona. Hirving Lozano opened the scoring in the 1st minute, but they let the lead slip and can have no complaints with the loss.

Gennaro Gattuso’s side bounced back with a 4-2 home win against Spezia in the Coppa Italia. Goals to Kalidou Koulibaly, Hirving Lozano, Matteo Politano and Eljif Elmas established a 4-0 half time lead.

Napoli’s last match was a 2-0 home win against Parma. Elmas opened the scoring with Politano wrapping it up in the 82nd minute.

Atalanta are undefeated in 14 of their last 15 matches in all competitions. They drew 0-0 against Genoa and 1-1 at Udinese in Serie A, dominating both matches but unable to find a winner.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side bounced back with a 3-0 win at AC Milan. It was an important victory against the Serie A leaders with Cristian Romero, Josip Ilicic and Duván Zapata on target.

Atalanta reached the Coppa Italia semi-finals after a 3-2 home win against Lazio. Berat Djimsiti opened the scoring, Ruslan Malinovskiy made it 2-2 and Aleksey Miranchuk scored the winner after José Luis Palomino was sent off.
