On the road, the Antlers had picked up successive wins against Fagiano Okayama (2-1), Yokohama (3-0) and Avispa Fukuoka (1-0) before their slip-up in Yokohama.

Approaching the midway point in the season, Toru Oniki's side remain three points clear at the top of the division.
