Vissel Kobe vs Nagoya Grampus Eight Predictions

Both sides are in decent form, and we should see opportunities at both ends on Sunday.

I'm banking on BTTS at Noevir Stadium Kobe.

Stats

  • Vissel Kobe have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 7 matches
  • Vissel Kobe have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 5 matches against Nagoya Grampus Eight (J1 League)
  • Nagoya Grampus Eight have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 4 matches (J1 League)

Head to Head

Vissel Kobe and Nagoya Grampus have met 43 times since 2008. Nagoya Grampus lead the H2H with 17 wins, while Vissel Kobe claimed ten victories, with 16 matches ending all square.

Vissel Kobe Form

Vissel Kobe return to J1 League business after a comprehensive 4-1 win against Kochi in the Emperor's Cup earlier this week. Three goals scored in an impressive second-half performance secured a place in the next round for Takayuki Yoshida's men.

The in-form Ushi have picked up victories in four of their last five matches, including a 3-1 win at Kashiwa Reysol in their most recent J1L encounter.

Nearly halfway through the J1L season, Vissel sit sixth in the division but only four points behind second-placed Kyoto Sanga, and with the benefit of two games in hand.

Vissel Kobe Team News

Head coach Yoshida has four confirmed absentees for Sunday's J1 League contest. Kento Hamasaki, Niina Tominaga, Yoshinori Muto and Klismahn remain unavailable, with various injury issues.

The hosts could field the same XI that eased past Kochi earlier this week.

Nagoya Grampus Form

Nagoya Grampus make the trip to Kobe following a comfortable 3-0 win against lower-league opponents Veroskronos Tsuno in the Emperor Cup.

A much-improved run of results has seen Kenta Hasegawa's side remain unbeaten in their last seven games, including victories picked up in each of their last three matches. Before their recent uptick in performance, Grampus had lost five of six previous fixtures.

Up to 14th in the division, Nagoya sit just seven points behind Vissel, albeit having played one game more.

Nagoya Grampus Team News

Head coach Hasegawa has no fresh injury issues ahead of the trip to Kobe on Sunday. Daniel Schmidt and Yuya Yamagishi remain long-term absentees for the visitors.

Sho Inagaki will continue to lead the Nagoya attack this weekend. The 33-year-old has seven goals in 19 J1 League appearances this season.

Verdict

Recent results suggest a strong probability of both sides getting on the target in Kobe this weekend. BTTS is my top tip at Noevir Stadium Kobe.
