Angers vs Saint-Etienne Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

St. Etienne are tipped to win away at Angers in their final French Ligue 1 fixture of the season. The visitors are having a fantastic end to the campaign with five wins from their last six matches and at 2.50 are tipped to claim all the points at Angers who have lost their last two.

Angers SCO Form & Team News

Angers were disappointing in their previous Ligue 1 fixture having suffered a 5-0 defeat at Lille on Saturday. They conceded as early as the second minute and had no response to the home team's superior attacking quality.

Stephane Moulin's men have had a poor campaign but are safe for the season as they sit 14 on the table, well clear of the relegation zone. They have claimed just two wins in their last nine matches and head into Friday's clash off the back of consecutive Ligue 1 defeats. The hosts are not fancied to claim the win at odds of 2.70 while a draw is set at 3.40.

Angers' recent poor run appears to have coincided with a dip in form from top scorer Stephane Bahoken. The striker has scored just four goals in his last 12 matches but should retain his place in attack.

AS Saint-Etienne Form & Team News

Saint-Etienne earned an impressive 3-0 victory at home against Nice in their previous Ligue 1 outing. Robert Beric netted a brace before Romain Hamouma added the third.

Les Verts have secured a UEFA Europa League spot for the season and hold a six-point lead in fourth place heading into the final weekend. Jean-Louis Gassett's men have been in great form in recent weeks with five wins in their last six matches making them good value for a victory on Friday at 2.50.

Beric has played a pivotal role in Saint-Etienne's recent upturn in form with five goals in his last eight matches. The striker is expected to start in attack on Friday while captain Wahbi Khazri and Remy Cabella should return after being suspended for the win over Nice.

Angers vs Saint-Etienne Head to Head

Saint-Etienne have never lost to Angers with five wins and four draws in nine previous matches. They have won four of the last five meetings, including a 4-3 victory in the reverse fixture at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Angers vs Saint-Etienne Match Up

With Bahoken struggling for goals at the moment, Angers are not expected to offer much of a threat to the Saint-Etienne defence. Having conceded seven goals in their last two matches, they could be in for a rough time against Saint-Etienne’s exciting attack.

Beric will be the one to watch for Saint-Etienne on Friday having scored nine Ligue 1 goals this season. The Slovenian forward netted a brace last time out and with the returning Cabella and Khazri, the visitors should have enough quality to get the better of the Angers defence.
