Dijon and Rennes are fighting at different ends of the table as they meet at Stade Gaston-Gérard on Friday. These clubs are going in opposite directions with Rennes ready to maintain their position at the top of Ligue 1.

Rennes had have a great start to the Ligue 1 season, currently top of the table after six matches. They drew 1-1 at Lille on opening day before four straight wins.

Julien Stéphan’s side won 2-1 against Montpellier, 4-2 in Nimes, 2-1 against Monaco and 3-0 at Saint-Etienne. Rennes last match was a 2-2 draw against Reims.

Les Rennais went behind early at Roazhon Park before goals to Raphinha and Damien Da Silva gave them a 2-1 half-time lead. They had 74% possession, 19-9 shots and 2.09-1.05 expected goals, Steven Nzonzi hitting the woodwork in the final minutes.

Rennes are missing injured Faitout Maouassa so Inter Milan loanee Dalbert should start at left-back. Central defender Damien Da Silva is suspended here with Daniele Rugani a chance to start.

Midfielder Steven Nzonzi is suspended and James Léa Siliki is injured. 17-year-old midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is in sensational form and recently scored a goal for the French national side.

Wingers Raphinha (Leeds) and Armand Laurienté (Lorient) were sold alongside goalkeeper Edouard Mendy to Chelsea. They spent well with Jérémy Doku, Martin Terrier, Serhou Guirassy and Alfred Gomis their replacements.

Martin Terrier could come into the starting side for Raphinha. Belgian teenage winger Jérémy Doku is also in line after his €26m move from Anderlecht.
