Monaco won three straight home matches before a 1-0 defeat against Benfica in the Champions League play-off first leg. They had some excuses after Al Musrati was sent off in the 52nd minute.

Adi Hütter’s side drew 3-3 in Lisbon which saw them exit the competition. They took the lead twice in Portugal but defensive errors cost themselves two goals.

Reims Form

Reims haven’t won in Ligue 1 since November as the club flirt with relegation. Luka Elsner was sacked earlier this month and replaced by Samba Diawara.

Diawara’s first game in charge came in the French Cup, a 0-0 draw at Bourgoin-Jallieu where they prevailed in a penalty shootout. They returned to Ligue 1 with a 4-0 loss at Lyon, 1-0 defeat against Angers and 1-0 loss at Rennes.

Reims continued their impressive French Cup run on Tuesday when they got into the semi-finals. Keito Nakamura opened the scoring in Angers, conceding late to send the game to penalties where they held their nerve to go through.

Monaco’s Jordan Teze, Aleksandr Golovin and Folarin Balogun are injured. Soungoutou Magassa is available after suspension.

Reims are missing the injured Mohamed Daramy, Reda Khadra, Yaya Fofana and Amadou Koné. Jordan Siebatcheu could earn a spot on the bench.
