The Saints were on fantastic 10-game winning run in the top flight, starting this month with a 1-0 win against Angers, while also beating Le Havre 2-1 on Saturday, Desire Doue scoring two goals in these encounters, Goncalo Ramos also on target.

This run ended on Tuesday with a 1-1 draw against Nantes on the road, Vitinha finding the net in first half.

Luis Enrique’s side is also having an amazing run in the Champions League, advancing to the semifinal over Aston Villa 5-4 on aggregate. After winning 3-1 at home earlier this month, they lost 3-2 in Birmingham, Nuno Mendes scoring twice in this tie.

Nice Form

This upcoming clash is of massive importance for Nice who are chasing one of the Champions League spots, currently sitting in 5th place three points short of the Top 3 zone.

The Eaglets had disastrous results throughout March where they lost to Lyon 2-0, drawn against Auxerre 1-1 and then wrapped up the month with a 2-1 loss to Monaco.

Nice also underperformed in their first two appearances in April, losing to Nantes 2-1 while the clash against Strasbourg ended in a 2-2 draw. They put an end to this awful run with a 2-1 win against Angers last weekend, Pablo Rosario and Ali Abdi appearing on the scoresheet.

Team News

Luis Enrique will probably want his star players as fresh as possible for the UCL semifinal clash against Arsenal next week, so Ousmane Dembele, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nuno Mendes are expected to miss this match.

As for the visitors, Tanguy Ndombele is the only injury concern, recovering from a groin issue.
