Next England Manager Odds - Eddie Howe, Graham Potter & Lee Carsley in Line as Gareth Southgate Resigns
Gareth Southgate's time as England manager is over after the 53-year-old offered his resignation. The announcement comes days after his side fell to a 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.
After 102 games and almost eight years in charge, he guided the Three Lions to their first World Cup semi-final for 28 years in 2018 and their first major men's final in 55 years at Euro 2020.
Despite failing to win a trophy with England, he goes down as one of their most successful managers in history.
Who is set to replace Gareth Southgate as England manager?
The three early favourites are Eddie Howe, Graham Potter and Lee Carsley.
Howe has been Newcastle manager since November 2021, Carsley the England U21 boss since 2021.
Potter managed Brighton from 2019 to 2022, leaving the southern club to join Chelsea where he lasted seven months in charge before being sacked.
Jurgen Klopp, Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel are in the hunt according to bookmakers.
